Located northeast of Gainesville approaching the town of Waldo, Austin Carey Forest is a UF property that teaches about…forestry. They have several buildings that can be rented amid a pictureque forest, one of which overlooks a serene lake (Lake Mize). It is generally quiet in this area and wildlife abounds. They do public events there sometimes if you want to check it out for rental consideration.
